About the Series

Nothing illuminates my studio practice more than this quote from Becoming Human Through Art, an art education text by Edmund Burke Feldman: “Art is something you do about something that interests, worries or pleases you.” I have found great satisfaction in using the visual arts to express my point of view on some of the most important elements of the human condition —love, loss, faith, fear, injustice, courage. I continue to be motivated by the belief that art should be based on more than the reproduction of physical beauty.
